The Creative Process
The creative process never really switches itself off in my head. My mind swirls with ideas and stored sensual information until the thought process has formed the ideas for paintings which I will create.
As an artist my sense of place and my life experiences have had a huge influence on many completed pieces. Energy from the landscape and nature which I believe is alive and tangible now become part of the accumulated layers, marks and tonal expressions on the canvas. Other experimental additions will also become part of the final visual experience as the background becomes the very soul and fabric of the work.
The process of creating the work is hard to quantify as time is like a doorway ajar which can not be closed until the very last stroke is placed on the canvas.
